Can-o-curls

Virgin Mobile

Ray Ban

Diet Coke

Lady Gaga and Beyonce get together to make one of the best music video clips of all time.

9.30 minutes later, it isn't surprising that product placement has been used the entire way throughout to pay for the production of this mini film.

From the cans of Diet Coke used as hot hair rollers, to the Wonder bread used to make poisonous sandwiches, the use of brand name products are not subtle yet also not intrusive or a distraction to the song.

Ray Ban, Radio K, Polaroid and in particular Virgin Mobile are also prominent. I would love to know how much they paid to be in this film clip, and whether the screen writer wrote the script around the brands willing to contribute. For the two biggest names in the music industry at the moment, I give massive props to the brands involved in making this such an incredible film clip, or is it a commercial?
